Where It All Began

Out of all the things I love doing in my free time, watching a TV show or a movie online is my absolute favorite thing, hands down. I started watching TV shows when I was just a kid on Disney Channel and I never stopped since then. I've watched way too many TV shows to even recall the number, but I can assure you that I remember every single one of them.

Why Game Of Thrones?

There were plenty of TV shows that made it to the top of my list, however, one still remains to be beaten. Game of Thrones has been number 1 on my list for the past 5 years, and I've been waiting for something to come along and replace it, but nothing came close to its immaculate storyline and character developments.

Seasons 1 & 2

I'll admit, when I watched the first season I wasn't a big fan at all; in fact, I kind of hated it, but when I start watching a show I have to finish it even if I don't like it. The first season was just an intro to the many storylines that would reveal themselves throughout the rest of the seasons, so it was kind of boring and slow-paced but extremely essential to what came afterwards. Season 2 wasn't the best thing ever because things were just beginning to make the slightest sense, so there weren't any real events that actually happened.

Seasons 3 - 7

What makes Game of Thrones my top rated TV show is because of the incomparable rollercoaster ride they take you on starting from season 3 up till season 7. You get to witness the character developments from start to finish, and the thing that makes them so special is that when a character dies, it feels as if you've grown attached to them; you just start crying unintentionally not realizing that they're just fictional characters and what you're watching isn't real, but then again, maybe that's just me.

What Makes Game Of Thrones Special

Personally, what makes a good TV show is the ability to transform me into their world without even realizing that I've been sucked into a completely fictional reality. The characters, the videography, the script, the costumes, anything and everything that contributed into making these 5 seasons were just impeccable. But nothing is 100% perfect, which brings me to why I said that the show was perfect up till season 7.

Season 8

When season 8 came out, I had such high expectations on how It was going to be, what events would play out, who would die, etc. A huge disappointment is an understatement to season 8's storyline and events. They took 2 years to film and direct this season, so as you can imagine the whole GOT fanbase had extremely high expectations, but it ended up being the worst season they produced. The first half was very slow paced, and the second half was crammed with a thousand events, so they ended up not giving each event the time it needed and deserved making the last season the worst season they've done.

As I said, nothing is flawless, and even with all its flaws, it's still my number 1 favorite TV show of all time.

I enjoyed it, too, which is quite a feat on the producers' part since the books are amazing. I suspect Season 8 was a flop because it veered away from Martin's books. Am I right about that?

I think what really struck me about this series is the willingness to kill our heroes and the commitment to making us care about the anti-heroes.

I totally agree with why season 8 was so off-base, but there's a prequel coming out soon, so let's hope that it's not a disappointment too.
